Full Moon - Super Moon 11/14/2016

8:52 am CT at 22 Taurus, 22 Scorpio

A Super Moon is simply a Moon that is at its perigree – that is, at its closest point to Earth. We had one in October as well. The Super Moons create more of an electric buzz or have more impact on energy levels.

A Full Moon is the time of culmination of the intention you set at the time of the New Moon. It is time to look back over the past couple of weeks and see what you intended and how you have progressed.

Some rituals to try out at this Super Full Moon may consist of writing down your intent for the next cycle, smudging and clearing your home, bathing your crystals in the light of the Full Moon over night to recharge them. You might also make an elixir using a crystal submerged in a glass container of water which you leave out under the Full Moon. (Be careful that you don’t use a crystal that will dissolve or break down in water – I once did this with Angelite.) You then can drink the water – infused with the energy of the crystal.

The Moon in Taurus will be opposite the Sun in Scorpio. They are both Fixed signs – which means they pretty much will dig in their heels if being prodded to change when they’ve made up their mind.

Each Moon sign has a characteristic need for security. In Taurus, there is a need to keep things as they are until such time as they can be assured that a change will not affect their security.

Taurus loves sensuality, and part of that need is met by connecting to the Earth in some way. This need can also be met by doing something physical, be it sex, watercolors or making dinner.

Scorpio is a Water sign, which brings with it the potential of developed intuition or psychic ability. Scorpio is ruled by Pluto, and the drive is for intensity, going into the depths to find answers, doing research, transformation, the cycle of birth and death. The occult is associated with Scorpio.

When Scorpio and Taurus are opposing each other it creates tension, and can result in reactions to the stress. Taurus craves security before making a choice, while Scorpio is ready to step out and see what’s out there, take a leap of faith and uncover the answer to a mystery.

Be open, observe and take note of how this Full Super Moon affects you. The more you are aware of the Moon cycles and how they affect you, the more prepared you are to deal with them.

Mercury Goes Direct Today

Mercury goes Direct today at 8:57 am CT. This trickster has been up no good even yet this morning for me, messing with my computer!

The Moon is in the watery depths of Scorpio with no VOC (void of course) until 11:32 pm CT tonight through 10:46 am Thursday. Shopping under a VOC Moon can lead you to purchase items that you thought would be useful, but later turn out to be left in the drawer, or not what you expected.

Get your Valentine's shopping done. Under the influence of Scorpio, you may choose a gift for your sweetheart that is rather "Shades of Grey" in nature! If you wait until Thursday or Friday, under the influence of fiery Sagittarius, the gift you choose may be playful and adventurous - a vacation for two?

Taurus Full Moon

4:23 pm, November 6, 2014

Taurus is ruled by Venus, and this Full Moon just happens to be in touch with Venus, along with the Sun in Scorpio.

Scorpio has a reputation of being sultry, dark and deep.

Taurus, being ruled by Venus, is sensuous and Earthy sign, in touch with things that “feel good.”

What a combination this is, Scorpio and Taurus.  This could bring a night of sexual promise or perhaps luxuriating in sensual delights such as a massage or a relaxing day at the spa.

Relax and take your time today, allow yourself to enjoy the pleasures of life.

Scorpio New Moon with a Solar Eclipse

October 23, 2014
4:57 pm CDT

This is a powerful New Moon in Scorpio.  The Sun will make her annual entrance into Scorpio just 10 hours earlier (6:57 am).   This partial Solar Eclipse occurs 19 years after a very similar one that happened on October 23, 1995.  Do you recall what was happening in your life back then?

The symbolism of Scorpio is most dramatically shown through the Phoenix rising from the ashes.  Or, you can think of it as death and re-birth, transformation, etc.

Scorpio is very powerful and intimidating.  Just know that the bark is worse than the bite.  If you let go and work through the change it can bring great reward to your life.

The house where the Eclipse falls shows where we can experience the most growth.  Your astrologer can help you locate this in your personal chart.  Email me at AstrologyByMarsha at gmail dot com if you’d like more information, or to schedule a reading.

Aquarian Full Moon, Sunday August 10, 2014

We will have an Aquarian Full Moon on Sunday, August 10th at 1:10 pm CT or 7:10 pm BST.  This Full Moon is being called a Super Moon.  The reason it is called a Super Moon is because the Moon is at its perigee, or closest point to the Earth.

At this time, Mercury is involved tightly with the Sun, and opposite the Moon.  Saturn in Scorpio is in stressful contact with the Sun, Mercury and the Moon.  This could manifest in restriction of emotional expression in some way – censorship?  There is a lot of Fixed energy with this Full Moon, so you are well advised to be aware and be prepared to go with the flow.
